MILAN – Colombia’s coffee production rose 2% during the month of October to 1.395 million bags, according to the country’s Federation of Coffee Growers.
During the last 12 months, the world’s largest producer and exporter of Mild Arabicas harvested 14.036 million bags, up 3% from the previous equivalent period.
However, coffee production during the first 10 months of calendar year 2016 fell slightly (-1%) to 11.26 million bags.
Coffee exports rose 6.4% in October to 1.249 million bags. Exports in the November 2015 – October 2016 period were down 0.7% on year to 12.391 million bags.
Shipments in the January – October period recorded a 3% decrease to 10.084 million bags.
