GRANTS PASS, Ore. – Tuesday, April 22, in honor of Earth Day, Grants Pass based Dutch Bros. Coffee rolled out Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee.
Dutch Bros. Coffee is excited to launch their proprietary blend using beans from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms. These farms meet comprehensive environmental and social standards, protecting wildlife habitat and workers alike.
Dutch Bros. uses a proprietary three-bean blend comprised of beans from Brazil, Columbia and El Salvador; the blend is designed to create a symphony of flavor, acidity, and body using only 100% Arabica beans. Today, the blend is comprised of 50% beans from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms.
Dutch Bros. has always ensured quality from farmer to cup by cultivating close relationships with its growers and is now committed to becoming 100% Rainforest Alliance Certified. “We care greatly about the people and the environment at the source of our operations,” said Dutch Bros. Coffee co-founder Travis Boersma.
In line with the Dutch Bros. approach of caring for people Dutch Bros. Coffee is always looking for ways to better the care for our partners, employees, communities and customers.
We are happy to play a role in ensuring that those working to provide us with our beans have access to healthcare and schools, as well as supporting sustainable farm management and environmental standards provided on Rainforest Alliance Certified farms.
Rainforest Alliance Certified farms have met the standards of the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN), a coalition of conservation organizations in Latin America for which the Rainforest Alliance serves as secretariat.
Rainforest Alliance certification promotes sustainable farm management and incorporates a range of environmental, social and economic standards, including water and soil conservation, wildlife protection, housing and healthcare for farm workers, and access to education for farm children.
