PIAN DI SAN BARTOLO, Florence, Italy – Accademia del Caffè Espresso, the new destination for coffee lovers, officially opens at a stone’s throw from Florence. Founded by La Marzocco, the historic and lauded manufacturer of artisinal espresso coffee machines, Accademia del Caffè Espresso is a multifunctional space, which aims to promote and disseminate the culture of quality coffee across multiple platforms.

The historic La Marzocco workshop and factory spaces have been reborn as the new Accademia del Caffè Espresso. Today the Accademia del Caffè Espresso is an open and shared space born for learning and exploration. The space includes a museum which that tells the story of over 90 years of history and technological innovation of the company, botany and origins of the coffee plant; laboratories, functional to research and training; a library; a historical archive and a professional kitchen.

The decision to open the doors of the Accademia del Caffè Espresso on October 1st is not by chance; October 1st is International Coffee Day!

What better day to officially open the doors of the Accademia del Caffè for guided tours of the exhibition spaces, first contact experiences with the world of coffee, and in-depth courses dedicated to professionals and enthusiasts?

Visitors will be able to book a guided tour of the museum and they will be able to choose to integrate this tour with coffee tastings, coffee related experiences, and courses. The experiences are mini-courses lasting one hour, which offer an introduction to the different perspectives of, and which are divided into three macro-families: sensory, origin and skill.

From cupping, professional coffee tasting, latte art, roasting, and the preliminaries of processing methods, these experiences allow visitors to immerse themselves in the multifaceted world of coffee and to learn to understand everything that goes into our daily cup of coffee.

On the other hand, the courses are designed for an audience seeking greater insight, and are suitable for both enthusiasts and professionals.

The soul of the Accademia del Caffè is multifaceted and its spaces are designed for sharing and an exchange of ideas. Over the next few months, the Accademia del Caffè will expand to accommodate courses and masterclasses on subjects surrounding the world of coffee and the cafè landscape.
