AREZZO, Italy – Following yesterday’s announcement, Melitta Group has issued the following press release on the acquisition of Caffè Corsini. The Italian coffee brand Caffè Corsini sprints on the international market thanks to Melitta Group. A new partnership is born to increasingly spread the Made in Italy coffee quality in the world.
At the center of the cooperation between Caffè Corsini, the company leader in the food & beverages field, founded in Arezzo in 1950, and the German multinational Melitta Group, a family-owned group active at international level with over a 100 years tradition (with a 2020 turnover of over 1.7 billion euros and 5890 employees), the agreement to keep governance in Italy and production in the historic plant near Arezzo.
A strategic agreement that sees the acquisition of 70% shares of Corsino Corsini Spa by the German group, with the intention of taking the coffee roasters to new heights on the market, consolidating its presence abroad.
There is a strong compatibility between the two companies: both have solid important family roots, similar philosophy, and company policies. The aim is to strengthen each other and grow together, developing new products and strategies.
“Melitta Group aims to build its own business through excellences already on the territories. Our cooperation opens new perspectives and opportunities for both companies,” says Patrick Hoffer, head of Caffè Corsini since 2004, who remains CEO of the company.
“Our wish is to grow and strengthen our respective positions on the market, especially abroad. Thanks to our different product ranges and respective territorial focuses, we balance each other very well, and will achieve much more working together than alone. Both the production as well as the management of the company will remain at Badia al Pino, with no repercussions on the actual business level.
There will be no interference in the management of the company, nor plans for staff revisions; on the contrary, one of the main objectives is to grow on the territory and create new jobs. Actually, one of the reasons Melitta chose us is because we are so well known in our region.” Production will remain independent and operational base will stay at the historical headquarters near Arezzo.
“We are looking forward to working with Caffè Corsini,” commented Jero Bentz, member of the Chief Corporate Management of Melitta Group.
“Caffè Corsini, just like us, is a family-owned company, with a great tradition and very high quality product standards. We also share a great passion for coffee. Reasons I believe we are the perfect couple with respects to strategic approach, culture and business values. Our experience has demonstrated more than once that these are the best conditions on which to build a successful future together”.
Melitta Group deals in development, production, and sales of branded goods for the consumption of coffee, conservation and preparation of foods, and house cleaning products. It is named after Melitta Bentz, the German housewife from Dresden who invented the first coffee filter in 1908.
