CoffeExperts, by Andrea and Marco Bazara: “Sharing is the true treasure of our work”

The authors: "As I like to think, this book is for everyone. Of course, it speaks to an audience of experts who will hopefully increase their knowledge buying it, but it also speaks to all the people who are approaching with curiosity and  expectation to the wonderful world of coffee. This is clearly not a book for those who are not interested in a personal growth but for those who believe it's always important to keep training and inspiring."

MILAN- The guide CoffeExperts is not new on these pages. First, it appeared with its official launch and then with our review to narrate in detail the many themes explored inside this encyclopedic work counting more than 700 pages. Coffee experts, or simply vaguely interested people, can find in this work everything they need to know to get cultured about coffee and all of its aspects. We talked about this with the authors, Andrea and Marco Bazzara.

Andrea, why was a work like CoffeExperts needed?

A work like this is needed not so much to transmit contents and information that are surely
fundamental and useful to improve one’s work and increase one’s culture, but above all to remind to everyone of us that the true treasure of a work like this is the sharing.

This sharing carried out thanks to our renown will of networking and to the paramount presence of our friends and coffee experts, which allowed us to gather in one book the best of the innovation and coffee culture giving us the possibility to get hints coming from different fields reminding all of us the quest for improvement and the will to always look ahead, exploring, implementing and creating, as we, the Italians, have always done.

Who is the book addressed to? More to the community or to those who don’t know coffee yet? Marco, tell us something more.

As I like to think, this book is for everyone. Of course, it speaks to an audience of experts who will hopefully increase their knowledge buying it, but it also speaks to all the people who are approaching with curiosity and  expectation to the wonderful world of coffee. This is clearly not a book for those who are not interested in a personal growth but for those who believe it’s always important to keep training and inspiring.

Marco, in such a wide work, why is a chapter on pods missing? (topic not always addressed by all books on coffee)

Pods were not willingly set apart, just to be clear. As Espresso blenders we probably tend to focus, for needs and virtues, to another kind of method, still our company also offers this kind of product. It’s also true that the quest for quality does not depend on a particular context, making it to be found in different fields and always with a genuine soul and attention for details.

There are still many other topics missing but since the book is already full of contents, we didn’t want it to become an encyclopedia. However, we will surely fascinate our readers in the next publications with this topic.

In 700 pages and 9 chapters, in your opinion, which one should be read first to have the bigger picture?

Starting with a compass for sure helps the travelers to come back on their steps and follow a prearranged path, but sometimes it’s just better to lose oneself in the width of the world and to fine oneself further ahead. I would say thus that it’s better to follow one’s inspiration and start to focus on a topic of the book that can be luring, rather than to follow the index.

Publishing a paper guide nowadays when the online world patronises also due to Covid: what message do you want to send, Andrea?

It’s important to remind that nowadays adapting to new trends and always aiming high is inevitable and also that technological development can be something positive if connected to tradition and to the passion for the good, the beautiful and the well-made. Our book wants to transmit this concept and to give the readers the opportunity to refine their senses holding it in their hands and leafing through its pages full of knowledge, expertise, skills and high professionalism. The knowledge of lives lived among immense sweeps of coffee bags.

Marco, will there be a second edition updated with the future CoffeExperts events?

Such a question is a trigger for the brains of the Bazzaras, so please be careful with your questions! Of course, we will give space and the possibility of networking to our friends and speakers in the future events to be able to draft the common growth perspectives, I’m sure something interesting will come out.

Moreover, big groups and important figures have already shown their interest in participating and in building together a more and more connected network, following the typical culture promotion scheme that our father Franco and our uncle Mauro were able to transmit.

When the next CoffeExperts? Will there also be an online version besides the typical in person one? Andrea, tell us something more.

Unfortunately, now we have to deal with what is defined as the “new normality”, where planning everything with certainty is not given for granted. Our event will be organised as usual with a two-year deadline and the title will be “Future Coffee, Innovation and Sustainability Oriented””. It will be in 2023 and it will have a more mainstream structure including also our international partners and willing to gather besides our well-known travel companions, new speakers and new life experiences that tell the story of a world so far but at the same time so close. The world soaked with passion, magic and eternity that only a cup of coffee can contain.
