LONDON, UK – The International Coffee Organization (ICO) on 31 January 2022 launched a new online World Coffee Statistics Database (WCSD). This tool is unique in the world and provides a one-stop shop for all coffee-related statistics.

The key feature of the database is its ability to generate reports on a disaggregated basis, therefore providing in-depth insights into the production, trade, consumption and prices of coffee. This database is being built on ICO’s nearly 60-year history of collecting, processing, and disseminating coffee data; serving all coffee stakeholders in a neutral and professional manner.

The World Coffee Statistics Database will revolutionise the way in which coffee data are delivered and used, giving analysts and users of ICO’s coffee statistical a simple control and access to its data set.

The database will give users access to more than 50 years of coffee statistics, covering over 190 countries! The combination of data downloads is almost limitless, allowing users to disaggregate the data by countries of origin or countries of destination of a single reporter or a multitude of reporters either individually or combined.

Furthermore, data downloads can be customised to suit the unique needs of each user. For example, Brazil’s exports of green beans to the individual European countries in January of every year for the last twenty years, or the disaggregated soluble coffee imports of Indonesia in January and September 2018.

The choice is only limited by the imagination of the user.

Access to WCSD is open only to the ICO Members and to subscribers of ICO publications. For further information, please contact the Statistics Section at stats@ico.org.
The database is available at https://db.ico.org.
