Brazil coffee exports fall 12% in January to 3.2m bags, but revenues reach an all-time high of $700m due to higher prices

MILAN – Exports of all forms of coffee from Brazil were 11.8% lower on year in January at 3,226,441 bags, reports the Coffee Exporters Association in Brazil (Cecafé) in its monthly figures. On the other hand, revenues reached an all-time high for the month of over $700 million.

Green coffee exports fell 14.1% to 2,905,342 bags. Arabica shipments recorded a 10.3% decrease to 2,816,249 bags.

Robusta shipments went sharply down (-63.2%) to 89,093 bags. Exports of processed coffee (mostly soluble) bucked the trend with a 15.6% increase over year to 321,099 bags.

Brazil coffee exportsCumulative exports for the first seven months of the current July 2021 to June 2022 Brazil coffee year stood at 22,872,285, or 19.4% less than in the equivalent period of 2020/21.

Green coffee exports were 21.8% down at 20,348,796 bags, of which 18,448,740 (-19.7%) of Arabica and 1,900,056 (-37.3%) of Robusta.
