Cold brewed or cold pressed coffee is any coffee made using water that never rises above room temperature and is an “artisanal” or “craft” component of the Third Wave of Coffee that can be served hot or cold.
Cold brewed coffee takes minutes to prepare, but takes 12-24 hours to “brew”. DIY methods are often prone to tipping over, left exposed to the elements and require hand straining through costly filters or cheesecloth. Current commercial products are expensive, complicated, and don’t produce enough coffee to justify the cost and hassle.
Fridge Barista utilizes an extra wide mouth stainless steel wire mesh filter and food grade plastic container. Even though Fridge Barista makes 72 ounces of cold brew coffee or concentrate, it is small enough to fit on most shelves in the refrigerator and doesn’t take up valuable counter space like other products.
