MILAN – Gruppo Cimbali – the Made in Italy company that designs, manufactures and distributes professional coffee machines and other café equipment under its brands LaCimbali, Faema, Casadio and Hemerso – has inaugurated on November, 12, 2014 its first subsidiary in Shanghai.
At 6:30 p.m., local time, Maurizio Cimbali, Chairman of the Group, officially cut the ribbon in front of the local authorities.
The new 200 square meter branch houses an innovative showroom where all of Gruppo Cimbali’s top models and brands are on display. The premises include office spaces and a training center built with the aim of disseminating the culture of Italian coffee in China and hosting courses in the field of coffee-making.
The inauguration of the new subsidiary was held in parallel with the opening of the FHC Shanghai, the Premier Business Exhibition for the global food and hospitality sector in China, where the Italian brand, founded in 1912 in Milan, played a leading role with its stand in the area dedicated to the world of coffee.
At the FHC visitors had the opportunity to admire and learn more about the new models under the brands La Cimbali, Faema and Casadio.
During the event Gruppo Cimbali also put on display some of the unique pieces belonging to the Mumac, Gruppo Cimbali’s museum of the espresso coffee machine created with the aim of preserving and representing, with over 100 machines in display, the Italian heritage in this industry.
The opening of a first branch in Shanghai is indicative of how Gruppo Cimbali considers the consolidation of its business in China as a top priority. Gruppo Cimbali has been operating in China for over 20 years with a distribution network and, more recently, with a representative office in Hong Kong.
“For us the Chinese market, with its high growth rate, is of paramount importance”, says Franco Panno, General DIrector of Gruppo Cimbali.
“We have been operating in China for years and we are planning to expand even further here in the future. The opening of a subsidiary in Shanghai is part of our development plan both in terms of investments in research and development and in terms of growth in the geographic regions that we consider strategic. Our goal will be also to share, disseminate and spread the culture of Italian coffee and of the Made in Italy”, concludes Mr. Panno.
