VENICE, Italy – Just a few days to go for the final stages of the World Brewers Cup, taking place in Athens from June 22nd to 24th. Excellence and commitment are values that Mazzer shares with the competitors taking part in the WBrC. That’s why, after sponsoring the World Brewers Cup in Melbourne last October, Mazzer decided to extend the partnership for the next three years (2023 – 2025).

Mazzer extend its partnership with World Brewers Cup for the next three years

The WBrC competition, organized by World Coffee Events, promotes service excellence and highlights the craft of brewing filter coffee by hand.

Competitors from all over the world are now heading to the Hellenic capital for a few days of on-site training, ready to compete for the best filter coffee. To help them perfect their routine on the ZM grinder, a well-equipped training area has been specifically set up near the expo by Kafea Terra, Mazzer’s official distributor in Greece.

The ZM is a digital, very flexible grinder that was conceived to be used for different brewing methods. It has low coffee retention (under 0.45 grams), new 83mm hybrid burrs both for filter and espresso and the ability to record up to 20 grinding positions for quick recipe recall. This allows baristas to switch seamlessly among different origins and brewing methods.

The grinder features the patented motor-operated digital grind adjustment. The unique system allows baristas to adjust the distance between burrs in microns and to have accurate and repeatable settings. Thanks to tight tolerance machining, the ZM requires no manual burr alignment. Its automatic True Zero calibration ensures that the grind settings are consistently identical from grinder to grinder, from café to café.

Since 2023, the grinder is also available in the ZM Plus version, specifically equipped for espresso with the multi-adjustable portafilter holder and the GFC system (Grind Flow Control). Hence, the espresso workflow is greatly improved, obtaining a fluffy, clean, clump-free result directly in the portafilter holder.

Mazzer will exhibit at World of Coffee at booth 3-L30, where attendees will have the chance to test the complete range.

Finally, Mazzer won’t just be sponsoring the WBrC competition, but will also release a new manual grinder, Omega X. Stay tuned for more.
