INTERNORGA 2015 – Kitchen equipment scores with efficiency, intuition and multi-functionality

HAMBURG, Germany – The pace of development and innovation in kitchen equipment is hotting up even more.

The staff at restaurant, hotel and institutional kitchens can look forward to more labour-saving features. Visitors to INTERNORGA can get an impression of that from 13 to 18 March 2015.

Right at the centre of optimised processes is intuitive operation of cooking equipment, the use of smart-phone technologies, and cost cutting by reduction in consumption of resources.

The technical improvements in cooking, refrigerating and dishwashing equipment also give improved hygiene in cleaning, and technologies for savings in energy and water consumption.

“As usual, practical demonstrations of equipment and live cooking shows will be the main feature of presentations, giving the audience a close-up view of preparation of soups and snacks, and even of extensive meals,” says Claudia Johannsen, Head of Business Unit at Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH, “and in 2015 there will be a strong focus on the trend subject of regional cooking.”

Globally networked via the Cloud

There will be more focus on the use of control systems that are globally networked via central servers (Clouds) and can be operated like a smartphone.

Show cooking and functional design are also major topics, as these units are often used within sight of customers. Many manufacturers report an increasing trend in the incorporation of practical functions and programs specifically designed for the product in question.

Kitchen equipment that thinks ahead

Leading manufacturers use INTERNORGA as the number one trade fair for presentation of their innovations. RATIONAL are showcasing two innovations in 2015 – “Firstly the new SelfCookingCenter 5 Senses, the new RATIONAL which feels and thinks ahead; it learns from and communicates with its user.

And secondly the SelfCookingCenter BakingLine. Made for bakery outlets that want to benefit actively from the growing out-of-home market,” says Oliver Frosch, Managing Director RATIONAL Großküchentechnik GmbH.

The SelfCookingCenter BakingLine is a complete baking and snack system which replaces the in-shop baking oven and gives real value added.

Manitowoc , a regular exhibitor for many years, also highlights smarter controls for appliances, and more networking for better process reliability.

“Skilled people are more and more difficult to find, so in future cooking processes will have to be monitored by smart control systems to ensure reproducible quality. Controls and software have widened the applications of our equipment in the past, and will continue to do so in the future – they will make the machines easier to operate and help to optimise cooking results.

Increasing importance will be attached to individual user interfaces, tailored to the specific requirements of the customer, and to read-out and processing of data for commercial purposes and for networking of equipment,” says Hans-Werner Schmidt, Management Board of Manitowoc   Deutschland GmbH.

Innovations from Germany and abroad

Luca Bertogno of the Export/Marketing Department of Berto’s S.p.A. in Tribano, an exhibitor in Hamburg   for four years now, has brought new systems with him – “We will present new equipment in modular versions for several of our series, and new high-power burners, induction hotplates and grilling systems.”

Josper, a Spanish company, will exhibit at INTERNORGA for the first time, and this will also be their first presentation in Germany .

“Josper is an elegant combination of a grill and an oven in a single machine, aimed at a very demanding clientele – the HoReCa sector,” explains Sales Manager Marcelo Yardin.

This grill oven has already proven its capabilities in steakhouses, grill restaurants, tapas bars, bistro cafés and in traditional and fine dining restaurants.

Marcelo Yardin has great expectations for INTERNORGA: “We believe it is an outstanding marketing tool and will focus on opportunities to enhance our sales network.”

Visitors can see the Josper grill oven in action in original presentations in the show kitchen, with fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and fish.

Warewashing specialist Hobart also attaches great importance to INTERNORGA as a platform for presentation of equipment and innovations – “We can reach all our target groups here. A major benefit of INTERNORGA is the high quality of the trade visitors from Germany and abroad,” says David Reinhart, Head of Marketing, Hobart .
