SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Verve Coffee Roasters announced today the opening of its first Southern California cafe in Downtown Los Angeles’ Fashion District.

The brand is partnering with Los Angeles-based cold-pressed juice company Juice Served Here on the 1,600 square foot concept cafe, located within the historic 833 Spring Street property adjacent to Downtown’s burgeoning Broadway Corridor.

The Spring Street location is the first of four Verve cafes opening throughout different neighborhoods in Los Angeles over the next year and marks Juice Served Here’s fourth location.

Juice Served Here will serve their core menu of 23 cold pressed juices, seasonal specials, smoothies and shots.

In addition, the company has collaborated with Verve’s product development team to offer coffee items such as Tres Leches Lattes, Chocolate Fix Mochas and completely allergen-free Kanji Milk.

“Los Angeles has always been at the forefront of our minds when we thought about expansion beyond Santa Cruz because of its diverse and neighborhood-centric culture,” said Colby Barr, co-founder, Verve Coffee Roasters.

“Downtown LA is the perfect location for us to open the first cafe as the geographical and historic heart of the city. It’s an exciting time for the company as we continue expanding to West Hollywood and Highland Park in 2015.”

The open, loft-like space features high ceilings, natural lighting and original white marble walls dating back to the early 1900s.

The space was designed by Studio MAI, the multi-disciplinary design and specialty-manufacturing studio behind renowned LA hospitality designs such as Pedalers Fork, Hinoki and The Bird and Gjelina Restaurant. The building is known as the original home for LA’s influential City Club, a prohibition-era speakeasy, and still features an iconic “Dancing Girls” sign.
