Coffee exports from India fell almost 27% on year in January to to 18,475 tonnes, reports the Coffee Board.
Green coffee shipments were sharply down. Arabica exports declined 47% to 4,826 tonnes from 9,120 tonnes last year.
Robusta sales were 30.5% down to 5,736 tonnes, the Coffee Board data show.
On the other hand, shipments of instant coffee more than doubled to 5,328 tonnes (+144%) from 2,182 tonnes in January 2014.
Coffee production in India is expected to reach 331,000 tonnes this from 304,000 tonnes in the previous season, according to the most recent estimate from the Coffee Board.
