On Thursday April 2 as you sip and savour that delicious Merlo Coffee from its iconic blue takeaway cup, know that on this day Merlo is donating $1 for every coffee to Autism Queensland.
Merlo Coffee supports lesser known charities and organisations with the aim of lifting their profile and raising much need funds for their cause.
World Autism Awareness Day is a global initiative to shine the light on the importance of inclusion and understanding for of all those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
“Merlo Coffee will be promoting Go Blue for Autism day in its 11 company stores and encouraging the many cafes that serve Merlo to do the same. We will be donating $1 to Autism Queensland for every takeaway coffee sold in our stores on April 2,” said founder Dean Merlo.
“Go Blue for Autism is a movement Merlo is delighted to support, and given South East Queensland’s passion for coffee, we can’t wait to see how much is raised on the day,” he said.
From founder Dean Merlo, to the roasters, barista and back of house staff, everyone at Merlo is committed to providing as much support as possible to Autism Queensland.
The staff in all Merlo Coffee stores will be covered from head to toe in blue and customers will be encouraged to match the Merlo $1 donation with a gold coin of their own.
All funds raised through the Go Blue for Autism campaign will help Autism Queensland continue to deliver state wide Outreach support services to school children and their families diagnosed with ASD.
So, every time you enjoy Brisbane’s favourite coffee out of the iconic blue Merlo cup on April 2nd, spare a thought and perhaps some loose change for Autism Queensland.
