JAKARTA – The Trade Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra has formed a coalition of national promotion (Koalisi Promosi Nasional – KPN) to help accelerate export targets by 300 percent by 2019.
The embassy had initiated a motion to increase coffee export to Australia through the KPN program.
“Our target is [to increase export volume] by three times,” Trade Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra Nurimansyah said in a press release dated Monday, March 23, 2015.
According to Nurimansyah, chances of exporting Indonesian coffee to Australia are widely open. In 2014, coffee export to Australia have reached a total value of US$24 million , or 14.68 percent higher compared to last year’s US$20.9 million.
Currently, Indonesian coffee had only managed to control 5.01 percent of the Australian coffee market share. Indonesia’s coffee exports to Australia are dominated by unroasted coffee beans.
