PARIS – The 4th edition of the “Chocolates processed at originInternational Contest AVPA-Paris 2024 confirmed its success with more than 170 chocolates registered, demonstrating the sustained interest of chocolate producers.

More than twenty countries participated again in this third competition from three continents producing cocoa and making chocolate outside Europe: Africa, America and Asia…

The candidates are partly cocoa farmers processing their cocoa to make chocolate and, partly local chocolatiers who have been able to organize a cooperation network with farmers in their country to offer excellent chocolates on their national and international markets.

The chocolates presented to a Technical Jury chaired by Pascale Adeline were divided into several categories:

Dark chocolates without additives: in this category some chocolates obtained a special prize delivered by Chloé Doutre-Roussel

Various chocolates: dark chocolates with adjuvant or additive, milk chocolates, chocolates with various ingredients, chocolate candies etc….

The Gastronomic Jury, under the chairmanship of Emmanuelle de Beauregard, then met to taste the chocolates selected by the Technical Jury, to complete the grades for the award of medals.

For this fourth edition 2024, the jurors were once again able to appreciate the diversity of origins, tastes, and creativity of chocolatiers in choosing their ingredients. They were able to classify and order the samples to taste them in a fair way and select them for the Gastronomic Jury. It should be noted that the quality of the chocolates presented has further improved especially in balance and texture.
