BURLINGTON, Mass. and FRISCO, Texas, USA – Keurig is launching K-Cycle® At Home, a program intended for consumers who live in communities that are not currently accepting K-Cup® pods in their local recycling programs*. Through the mail-back program, participants can return their used plastic K-Cup pods to be processed for recycling and given a chance at a second life in a range of different products.

Consumers can purchase a bag with a prepaid return label from Keurig.com. After enjoying a K-Cup pod, users should peel and dispose of the lid, compost or dispose of the grounds, stack the empty K-Cup pods together and store them in the bag.

When the bag is full, users can drop the prepaid bag in the mail to be sent to a third-party partner, who will then recycle the components of the pod and the bag.

Keurig Dr Pepper, the maker of Keurig K-Cup pods and the Keurig brewing system, is committed to designing, innovating, collaborating and investing in the circular economy.

The introduction of the mail-back program builds on the company’s investments in community recycling facilities across the U.S. to increase acceptance of K-Cup pods.

Since 2014, KDP has committed more than $43 million for recycling improvements and has co-founded three recycling coalitions.

In addition, the Keurig Commercial K-Cycle recycling and composting program services commercial operations, such as offices, universities and healthcare facilities.

* Keurig® encourages consumers to check with their local town or recycling provider before purchase, as they may be able to recycle pods in the bin (after peeling and emptying) with other household recyclables.
