Safety regulators say Missouri-based Kaldi’s Coffee is recalling 700,000 disposable coffee cup sleeves because they pose a fire hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says Kaldi’s has received two reports of the Java Jackets catching fire when heated in the microwave. No injuries have been reported.

The paper sleeves fit 12- and 16-ounce cups, and they were distributed for free with hot drink orders at Kaldi’s Coffee stores between February 2014 and March 2015.
The sleeves are black and have “Kaldi’s Coffee” and company logo printed on the front.

The agency says consumers should discard the sleeves.

Consumers can call Kaldi’s toll-free at 888-892-6333 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CDT Monday through Friday, or check online at www.kaldiscoffee.com and click on “Recall” for more information.
