CHELMSFORD, UK – The Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE) are pleased to announce the next three host cities for World of Coffee Europe in 2017, 2018 and 2019. In 2017, Europe’s premier speciality coffee event will move to Budapest, Hungary, with the 2018 edition being hosted in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and finally Berlin, Germany hosting the show in 2019.

After a long and challenging bidding process, the next three cities for the European World of Coffee have been decided as follows:

• Hungexpo Budapest June 13 – June 15 2017
• RAI Amsterdam June 19 – June 21 2018
• Messe Berlin June 8 – June 10 2019

David Veal, Executive Director for SCAE, comments: “We are pleased and excited that after such a strong tender process, we can now announce our host cities for the next three years. The response from the successful cities has been overwhelming, with guarantees that the World of Coffee Europe event will be able to continue growing as one of the world’s best speciality coffee shows.”

David Veal continued: “Having seen some excellent potential host cities throughout this process, we are very happy with our final choices. It demonstrates the true character and determination of the speciality coffee community that we are able to take World of Coffee to an Eastern European country for the first time, and we have no doubt that SCAE members over the world will be delighted with the cultural diversity our chosen cities reflect.”

World of Coffee is being hosted in Amsterdam for the first time, and in the Netherlands for only the second time. It will also be Berlin’s first opportunity to host the show, having seen Cologne host SCAE’s annual event in 2009.

“We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for all the cities that entered a bid to host our World of Coffee event, and hope that we can count on their support in future years when we re-open the tender process for hosting the event in 2020 and beyond.” David Veal added. “The next step is to decide which competitions we will take to these three events, and this decision will be made in the next few months”.

2016’s World of Coffee will take place in Dublin, Ireland from 23-25 June, where SCAE will also host the World Barista Championship and World Brewers Cup, as well as a series of education seminars, cuppings and much more.
