HAMBURG, Germany – Great news for 2016: COTECA and the German Roasters Guild’s Kaffee Campus are becoming partners. The two events will be held jointly in Hamburg next year, from 7 to 9 September 2016. A total of around 200 exhibitors will be there from 30 nations to present their products and innovations.

There will also be an extensive supporting programme with workshops, presentations, professional coffee cuppings and opportunities for trade visitors to learn about the business, from roasting to barista certification.

The partnership will hold the events together in the exhibition hall of CCH – Congress Center Hamburg, giving even easier access for national and international visitors via Hamburg Dammtor station.

“This partnership means a lot of synergies for our trade visitors – both in terms of what the exhibitors are presenting, and in the supporting programme. The international meeting point of the coffee, tea and cocoa sectors will be here in Hamburg,” says Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH.

“We are delighted at this cooperation,” says Klaus Langen, Chairman of the German Roasters Guild. “We are currently putting together an exciting coffee programme for the trade visitors. In addition, exchange and networking are naturally at the focus of this meeting, when the industry gets together in Hamburg.”

The Kaffee Campus is the showcase of the global coffee scene – with coffee producers, green coffee traders, importers, coffee shop operators, coffee roasters, baristas, machine manufacturers, caffeine freaks and trend setters, and the coffee-specific conference programme.

COTECA, the Coffee, Tea and Cocoa Global Industry Expo, has established itself as the European meeting point for the global coffee, tea and cocoa industry.

Many market leaders use this international show to present their products and network with trade visitors on matters of importance to the industry.

The Kaffee Campus is an ideal addition to the range of events for visitors, coming not only from Europe but also from Brazil, Indonesia, India, China and Russia. In 2014 nearly half the COTECA visitors (46%) came from abroad.

About the German Roasters Guild

The German Roasters Guild, based in Berlin, represents the interest of the small specialist coffee roasters.

It was set up in 2006 with the aim of highlighting the traditional skills and passion for performance of the small coffee roasters in their work with coffee, one of the world’s most valuable raw materials; its work is aimed both at the interested general public and at professionals and passionate coffee connoisseurs.

The German Roasters Guild provides information on exclusive, high-quality coffee varieties, and supports selected sustainable development initiatives of small coffee farmers in the countries of origin, and applies strict rules to ensure gentle roasting processes which retain the aroma of the coffee, and thus ensure a healthy product.

Roasters must demonstrate their commitment to the principles of quality, health, fairness, sustainability and transparency in order to qualify for membership of the German Roasters Guild. www.deutsche‐roestergilde.de
