Coffee production in Indonesia to fall sharply in 2016, says survey

MILAN – Coffee production in Indonesia, the world’s fourth-largest producer of the commodity, may drop as much as 20 percent next year due to one of the strongest El Niño events in recorded history. The harvest is set to fall to 560,00 tonnes in the crop year beginning April 1st from a record volume of 700,000 tonnes this year, according to the median of estimates from six traders and analysts compiled by Bloomberg.
