OAKVILLE, ON – Tim Hortons announced on October 7, 2013 that for the second consecutive year it has been included in the Canadian Carbon Disclosure Project’s (CDP) Canada 200 Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI).

The achievement was announced in the CDP Canada 200 Climate Change Report 2013, which tracks how Canada’s largest listed companies are acting in response to a changing climate and recognizes various organizations for their approach to environmental information disclosure.

According to CDP, Tim Hortons high score and inclusion in the CDLI report indicate the provision of robust climate data and a good understanding of climate change-related issues affecting the company.

“We are constantly striving to reduce our environmental footprint  and manage emissions as part of our commitment to environmental responsibility,” said Scott Bonikowsky, vice president, Corporate, Public & Government Affairs, Tim Hortons.

“We believe that our focus on sustainability benefits the communities in which we operate and we are honored to once again be included in CDP’s Climate Disclosure Leadership Index.”

The CDLI comprises the organizations that achieved a score within the top 10 per cent of the sample assessed. In 2013, the Canada 200 CDLI comprises 21 companies. The Index is also an essential database for investors to assess a company’s environmental practices. The CDP represents 722 institutional investors with $82 trillion in assets.
