SCAE is pleased to announce its third origin field trip of the year to Java, Indonesia. The field trip will take place over 8 days from the 24th to 31st of July 2016, and will consist of farm visits, meetings with the local farmers and coffee tastings.
The activities are wide and varied, providing you with valuable insights into the coffee industry of Indonesia and its coffees, ranging from visiting processing plants to wet mills, whilst getting the most out of the traditional Indonesian hospitality!
Arriving on the 24th July, just before 16:00 hrs (you can arrive earlier and arrangements can be made for extra nights in the hotel), participants will enjoy dinner in the presence of the Governor of Bandung.
From Bandung in West Province, coffee plantations, processing plants and wet mills will be toured. There will be coffee tastings, and participants will get the chance to pick their own coffees!
On Thursday, we move on to Garut, to see the coffee process and enjoy dinner with the Bjpati of Garut, before returning on Friday to Bandung. Saturday is free to see the town and we depart on Sunday 31st July.
The cost of the trip is subsidised by the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture. Book your place now, as we have only 20 places available and it’s a great opportunity for SCAE members: the field trip costs only €900 (each person is responsible for their flight arrangements to and from Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Jakarta). The cost includes all overheads from 24th to 31st July in Java other than tips, alcohol and personal requirements.
Please make up your mind soon…The flights to Jakarta are going fast as this is holiday season!
