ANACAFE – Coffee exports from Latin American up 4.47% in 2012/13

At the end of the current crop, coffee exports in Latin America, excluding Brazil, totaled 29.3 million bags of 60 kilos, according to a report from ANACAFE. The figures from the Guatemalan National Coffee Association include Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Colombia and Peru.

Colombia had the best sales, registering an increase of 21.16% compared to the previous harvest.

It was followed by Nicaragua (18.32%), Peru (11.64%), El Salvador (10.66%) and the Dominican Republic (4.68%) show data from ANACAFE.

In contrast, Honduras was the country most affected in this crop season, reporting a decline of 20.71%. After them comes Costa Rica (-1.76%), Guatemala (-0.36%) and Mexico (0.06%).” reported Nacion.com.

The report from ANACAFE does not include the amounts of foreign exchange earned by exports and the total production figures for each country during the period indicated.
