HAMBURG (Germany) – COTECA Coffee, Tea and Cocoa Global Industry Expo continues to grow, and is getting ready for the fourth event in the series. A total of some 200 exhibitors from 30 nations will present their products and services in Hamburg, a major centre of the trade, from 7 to 9 September 2016, covering the whole of the value chain from growing to transportation, processing and finishing, right up to the high-quality end products.

The trade show will be supported by an exciting conference programme, with interdisciplinary discussion of subjects such as sustainability and climate change, plus coffee cuppings and tea tastings. Cooperation with the Coffee Campus of the German Roasters’ Guild means the show has plenty of programme items especially for roasters – with workshops and presentations, and opportunities to learn about the art of roasting right up to barista certification.

“We are delighted that COTECA has made such an outstanding name for itself worldwide, and continues to grow,” says Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH. “The international coffee, tea and cocoa trades will be here in Hamburg this September, and will make good use of this expo for networking and exchanges on what is really important to the trade.”

More than 30 nations presenting their products

Exhibitors at COTECA come from more than 30 nations, including Peru, Australia, Japan, Sri Lanka, Iran and China. And the global relevance of COTECA is increasing steadily – for the first time, exhibitors from Mexico, the United Arab Emirates and Taiwan will exhibit their products at COTECA.

About the German Roasters Guild
The German Roasters Guild, based in Berlin, represents the interest of the small specialist coffee roasters. It was set up in 2006 with the aim of highlighting the traditional skills and passion for performance of the small coffee roasters in their work with coffee, one of the world’s most valuable raw materials; its work is aimed both at the interested general public and at professionals and passionate coffee connoisseurs.

The German Roasters Guild provides information on exclusive, high-quality coffee varieties, and supports selected sustainable development initiatives of small coffee farmers in the countries of origin, and applies strict rules to ensure gentle roasting processes which retain the aroma of the coffee, and thus ensure a healthy product. Roasters must demonstrate their commitment to the principles of quality, health, fairness, sustainability and transparency in order to qualify for membership of the German Roasters Guild.
