EMERYVILLE, Calif. – Peet’s Coffee & Tea announces its highly anticipated 2013 Holiday Blend in whole bean, ground, and for the first time ever, convenient Single Cups. Rich and full-bodied, and layered with spice, earthy sweetness and crisp citrus notes, this year’s Holiday Blend is available now in Peet’s retail and major grocery stores, and online at www.peets.com.

Peet’s Ultimate Holiday Convenience Package — one-touch Cuisinart single serve brewer and an array of Peet’s Single Cups including the 2013 Holiday Blend, Cafe Domingo(R) and Major Dickason’s Blend(R), as well as two limited edition holiday mugs.

Featuring beans from Indonesia, Panama, and Kenya, the big flavored holiday offering is billed as “the blend it takes a year to build,” as Peet’s started sourcing for this vintage in 2012.

“We’re really excited to deliver this year’s Holiday Blend across all brewing formats, including Single Cups,” said Doug Welsh, vice president of coffee at Peet’s Coffee & Tea. “The extra time and effort we put into creating this year’s bold roast has resulted in a great tasting, more rounded cup of coffee that combines concentrated sugars with a spicy earthiness that will suit just about every coffee lover’s palate.”

Holiday cheer a single cup at a time

Once again, single serve brewers are expected to be a hot ticket item this holiday season, as one in three Americans have one at home or at work.

The continued growth of the category has challenged coffee producers to develop a single serve cup of coffee that tastes as good as anyone’s favorite brewed coffee. Peet’s met the challenge by crafting Single Cups with the same hand-roasted whole beans used in its packaged coffee.

By maintaining its legacy of sourcing superior quality beans and artisan roasting them in small batches, Peet’s developed a coffee with a taste so full-bodied and flavorful coffee lovers won’t believe it came from a single serve machine.
