CHELMSFORD, Essex – SCAE is in the process of restructuring our education team to enable us to deliver the new three tier Coffee Diploma System and also many exciting new initiatives that it has planned for next year.
Annemarie Tiemes becomes Senior Education Coordinator and is joined by the new Education Coordinator May Juan who is based in Manila, Philippines. She formerly had her own coffee company and was a SCAA Education Partner.
She has worked extensively in the Middle East and S.E. Asia which is where she will work for SCAE recruiting new ASTs and supporting and auditing existing ones. This will allow Annemarie to concentrate her efforts more on Europe.
Julie Barwick becomes Education Development Coordinator and as well as overseeing the administration of the education programme will be responsible for driving through SCAE’s new initiatives such as partnerships with coffee academies and schools and judging certification workshops.
She is ably assisted by Aidan Jones who is responsible for the very efficient and speedy delivery of certificates, diplomas, badges etc. to the members.
The team will be completed in the New Year by the arrival of a new Education Manager who will bring international education experience to the team and who will be responsible for achieving worldwide accreditation for the Coffee Diploma System as well as initiating a SCAE E-learning programme.

Meanwhile the Coffee Diploma System goes from strength to strength, SCAE now has 393 ASTs in 46 countries, it has issued over 12,000 certificates and 91 members have been awarded the Coffee Diploma.
