Hershey has rejected takeover offer from Mondelez International. The maker of chocolate bars, Reese’s Peanut Butter cups and Hershey Kisses said in a short statement that the offer provided no basis for further discussion with Mondelez. Hershey, based in the Pennsylvania town of the same name, has a market value of about $25 billion.
A merger between the two companies would have formed the world’s largest candy manufacturer.
