DUBAI – After their successful participation at Aromas Del Ecuador, a specialised exhibition held at Guayaquil, Ecuador, two UAE food and beverage companies, Coffee Planet and Shali Trading plan to import coffee, cocoa and chocolate products from this Central American nation.
PRO Ecuador will assist the two UAE companies to get the right companies to import high-quality products from the country.
According to the International Coffee Organisation, coffee consumption in the UAE is expected to grow at 12 per cent per annum in 2014.
In addition, as per a report from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the emirate recorded a strong total growth of about 22.84 per cent of coffee shops from 2009 to 2012 when the numbers grew from 648 to 769, respectively.
“Among the roles of PRO Ecuador is to create awareness about the products that we can offer to local companies in the UAE and encourage them to look at Ecuador as an important trading partner to import products and services,” said Hussam Hassan, head of the Ecuadorian Commercial Office in Dubai.
“The Aromas Del Ecuador is one of Ecuador’s key exhibitions that showcased the best of the country’s coffee, cocoa and chocolate products. Coffee Planet and Shali Trading had a successful participation at the event and we will continue to aid them.”
