BOGOTA, Colombia – Colombia, the world’s leading producer of mild washed Arabica coffee, produced a total of 1.28 million 60-kilo coffee bags in January, a 12% increase compared to the 1.14 million bags registered during the same previous period.
During the last 12 months (February 2016-January 2017), coffee production reached 14.4 million 60-kilo bags, a 1% increase compared to the 14.2 million bags produced between February 2015 and January 2016.
Similarly, so far this coffee year (October 2016 – January 2017), Colombian coffee production has increased 7% by reaching a total of 5.6 million bags.
Colombian Coffee Exports register 1.13 Million 60-kilo Bags
Colombian coffee exports increased 3% in January by reaching a total of 1.13 million coffee bags. Out of this total, the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation’s participation was 15% (170,000 60-kilo bags).
During the last twelve months (February 2016 – January 2017), Colombian coffee exports reached 12.9 million bags, a 0.9% increase compared to the 12.8 million bags sold in the international market between February 2015 and January 2016.
So far this coffee year (October 2016-January 2017), coffee exports have registered over 5.1 million bags, a 12% increase compared to the same previous period.
