NEW ORLEANS, La., U.S. – PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans was recently named a top franchise by Franchise Business Review in its 2017 Top Franchises for Women Report.

PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans was founded in 1978 by Phyllis Jordan, a pioneer in the coffee industry that demonstrated that better beans, superior roasting techniques, and pure passion for the art of coffee- making mattered.

PJ’s Coffee serves a wide variety of hot, iced and frozen coffee beverages using only the top 1% of Arabica beans, as well as organic tea and fresh breakfast pastries.

PJ’s Original Cold Brew Ice Coffee is brewed daily using a special cold-drip process that protects the flavor and strength of the beans, while producing a coffee that is 2/3 less acidic – a process pioneered by PJ’s founder.

PJ’s recently expanded internationally into Vietnam and also adopted El Terrerito Farm in Honduras, where the company grows coffee beans to produce its French Roast, with proceeds directly impacting the people and community of El Terrerito Farms.

Franchise Business Review, a national franchise market research firm that performs independent surveys of franchisee satisfaction, provides the only rankings of franchises based solely on actual franchisee satisfaction and performance.

Franchise Business Review publishes its rankings of top franchises in its annual Guide to Today’s Top Franchises, as well as in special reports throughout the year that rank the top franchises in specific sectors.

PJ’s Coffee was among 300 franchise brands, representing over 6,400 female franchise owners that participated in Franchise Business Review’s research.

PJ’s franchisees were surveyed on 33 benchmark questions about their experience and satisfaction regarding critical areas of their franchise systems, including leadership, training & support, financial opportunity, and work/life balance.

“We are proud to provide opportunities for females to be part of PJ’s franchise growth and are thrilled to receive this honor to showcase gender equality throughout our company,” says Ryan Stansbury, Franchise Development Director for PJ’s Coffee.

“This is just one of the many accomplishments that will help our company continue to strategically grow our brand.”

Key findings from research on women’s satisfaction with their franchise included the below:

  • 90% enjoy operating their business
  • 88% enjoy being part of their franchise
  • 84% respect their franchisor
  • 80% believe their franchisor acts with a high level of integrity
  • 74% would “do it again” knowing what they know today
  • 85% would recommend their franchise brand to others
  • 54% say their work/life is balanced or very balanced

“The franchise industry provides many options to women seeking business ownership on a full- or part- time basis in multiple sectors,” says Michelle Rowan, President of Franchise Business Review.
