KAILUA-KONA, HI, U.S. – Daylight Mind Coffee Company, in conjunction with the Hawaii Coffee Association, is hosting an all-Hawaiian signature drink contest at the annual Specialty Coffee Global Expo in Seattle.
The contest will be a celebration of Hawaiian coffee and creative use of Hawai‘i-produced products.
The contest will take place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the Expo (April 21-23, 2017), from 2pm to 5pm. It will take place at the Hawaii Coffee Association booth (#2707).
All contestants are required to create a specialty coffee drink using Hawaiian coffee and ingredients produced within Hawai‘i.
All ingredients will be provided by Daylight Mind Coffee Company and the Hawaii Coffee Association. The contest is open to all Expo attendees.
The contest is limited to 14 competitors; consequently, competitors will be selected from a list of applicants. Applicants should send an email to Zoey Thorson at zoey.thorson@daylightmind.com.
Applicants should explain why they should be chosen to compete. Explanations could include why the contestant loves Hawaiian coffee, what “aloha” means to the contestant, or simply what makes the contestant worthy.
The email should also include the contestant’s contact information. Selected contestants will be announced on April 16, 2017.
The first prize for the contest is roundtrip airfare to Kona, a week’s lodging on a coffee farm, and 2 coffee classes provided by Daylight Mind Coffee Company.
