BERLIN, Germany – Bonaverde, creator of the world’s first roast-grind-brew coffee machine the Bonaverde Berlin, announced today that Liz Wald (PICTURE) has joined the company as Head of U.S. Operations.

Wald will be leading the Berlin-based company’s upcoming market entry in the United States, Canada and the Americas, scheduled to begin this summer.

Prior to assuming this role, Wald served as Vice President Technology & Design at Indiegogo and led global development for Etsy, supporting entrepreneurs in bringing innovative products to market and gaining direct experience she will draw from to support the growth of Bonaverde’s connected coffee marketplace.

“We’ve always viewed the Bonaverde Berlin as a catalyst for direct-trade,” said Bonaverde Founder and CEO Hans Stier, “Liz is a true pioneer in bringing producers and consumers together, and we’re excited to tap her knowledge, experience and enthusiasm here at Bonaverde.”

“I’ve always been interested in how technology can drive fair trade,” said Wald. “Bonaverde is bringing the global coffee industry into the 21st century and I look forward to working with Hans and team on this noble mission.”

Bonaverde is projecting delivery of at least 10,000 machines before the end of 2017 and is preparing to scale rapidly as soon as shipment begins.

The company is currently focused on connecting with distributors in countries producing and consuming coffee around the globe, building the network for an end-to-end coffee ecosystem and solidifying their vertically-integrated sourcing structure.

Bonaverde’s crowdfunding backers are expected to receive machines this summer, with pre-orders available now for a $20 deposit.
