LONDON, UK – According to ICO’s monthly figures, world coffee exports amounted to 9.02 million bags in November 2017, down 9.2 percent from 9.93 million in November 2016.
Exports of Arabica were down 5.5 percent to 6.06 million bags. Shipments of Colombian Milds and Brazilian Naturals decreased by 11.5 and 9.7 percent respectively to 1.272 and 3 054 million.
Exports of Other Milds rose by 9.1 percent to 1.734 million bags.
Robusta volumes also fell sharply to 2.959 million bags, or a 15.9 percent decrease over the same month last year.
Exports in the first 2 months of coffee year 2017/18 (Oct/17 to Nov/17) decreased by 11.3 percent to 17.62 million bags compared to 19.86 million bags in the same period in the previous coffee year.
Arabicas and Robustas were down 7.1 and 18.9 percent respectively.
In the twelve months ending November 2017, exports of Arabica totalled 76.12 million bags compared to 73 million bags last year; whereas Robusta exports amounted to 43.28 million bags compared to 45.65 million bags.
