In collaboration with Carpigiani Ambachtelijk Benelux, the preliminary rounds of the Gelato Festival Challenge for Dutch ice cream makers will be held at Bakkersvak, the leading trade show for the Dutch bakery sector, in Gorinchem.
On March 5, ice cream makers compete for the title ‘best taste of the country’ and have a chance to win the European or World title!

The Gelato Festival Challenge, supported by the “Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Economic Development” and by the “Regione Emilia Romagna” is the competition which searches for the best flavors in the world.
The Gelato Festival Challenge is held in cities such as Rome, Valencia, Melbourne, Dubai, Austin, Berlin, Rimini, Singapore, Tokyo and Chicago.
This competition was organized by Carpigiani Gelato University, the world’s most famous school for successful ice cream makers and by Sigep – Rimini Fiera.

Do you have the best taste of the country? Join the Dutch Gelato Festival Challenge! All you have to do is bring your own ice cream mix and make at least 5 kg of ice cream. You determine the taste and garnish yourself. Your ice cream will be judged by independent and professional juries on:
- Taste combination of the ice cream
- Structure of the ice
- Presentation and layout of the ice
