Over 100 women joined the one-day event to raise awareness about health and well-being among female coffee farmers and seasonal workers in Bali, Indonesia.
Activities included an aerobic workout session, a doctor’s pep talk, medical check-ups, as well as a motivational workshop on women empowerment.
In celebration of Women’s Week, to coincide with Women’s Day that falls annually on March 8, Hilton Hotels in Bali organized the event with the Bali Mountain Women’s Coffee Cooperative, a local community of 105 female members.
The Bali group is Indonesia’s second all-female coffee cooperative after the Java Mountain Women’s Coffee Cooperative that was established in Ciwidey, West Java, in October last year.
In 2014, the Hilton signed the CEO Statement of Support for the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles, which emphasized promoting women to leadership roles, engaging them as business partners and fostering a community partnership that invests in women and girls through education, training and professional development.
