SINGAPORE – Food & Hotel Asia returned to Singapore from 24-27 April 2018 bigger and better in celebration of its Ruby Jubilee! Under the dedicated Speciality Coffee & Tea Hall located in Singapore Expo Hall 2, Boncafé along with its subsidiary brands hailing from the USA contingent and renowned Italian Coffee Brand – Segafredo Zanetti, joined hands to form the Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group Pavilion.

The group showcased its most extensive collection of products and state of the art equipment during the 4 days trade-only show.

Being the leading beverage solutions provider in Asia and beyond, show visitors were able to sample a wide range of coffee from all around the world.

Featuring the four major brands from the USA contingent, it was an inaugural showcase for Chock Full’O Nuts, Hill Brothers and MJB in Singapore and not forgetting the famous Hula-girl icon coffee brand – Kauai Coffee.

Latest technologies on display

Besides a wide range of products, visitors could see in action a full coloured coffee printers and LED-Lighted Semi-Automatic Coffee Machine from La San Marco. Since Food & Hotel Asia’s humble beginnings, where it was located in the carpark of Grand Hyatt in 1978, Boncafé has participated in every edition and witnessed the transformation of the show as it grew from strength to strength.

The “Ruby” coffee blend

In celebration of its Ruby Jubilee in 2018’s edition of Food & Hotel Asia, Boncafé proudly presented a limited-edition coffee blend named “Ruby”. Curated by a special team comprising its lead roaster, Mr. Shaun Lee and two senior barista trainers; Mr. Henri Koh and Mr. Arcadio Ibarra Dela Rosa, to commemorate this long-lasting friendship with Food & Hotel Asia, Ruby comprises high grade Arabica coffee beans from three major continents across the coffee belt, Costa Rica (Latin America), Uganda (Africa) and Bali (Indonesia).

This blend is carefully handcrafted and roasted to the beginning of second crack where the beans start to rejoice. With distinguish lemony flavour and a subtle touch of cinnamon spice, the coffee has a complex medium body and enjoyable high acidity. It works well with all-time favourite milk-based espresso beverages like caffellatte and cappuccino offering a pleasant toasty nut flavour with honey-like finishing.

Culinary Challenge

Boncafé was proud to be the Official Coffee Sponsor for the Culinary Challenge and Coffee Beans Sponsor for the Latte Art Showdown Competition where Ruby was showcased.
