PROVIDENCE, R.I., U.S. — Sydney, an Australia-inspired café located in Downtown Providence, Rhode Island, announced that it will open new locations in Cranston and Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

Sydney Portsmouth will open in November, while Sydney Garden City is slated to open early next year.

“We are excited to introduce Sydney to the Cranston and Portsmouth communities as we begin to expand our business,” remarked Jordan N. Boslego, Managing Member. “Sydney is where Australian inspiration meets local ingredients and a passion for quality, and we can’t wait to begin serving our new neighbors.”

Both new cafés will offer a menu and experience consistent with the Providence store, including the Sydney brand hallmarks of easygoing sophistication, finest-quality healthy ingredients, and cheerful service.

Sydney Garden City will occupy a corner location in an upscale open-air shopping center, while Sydney Portsmouth will be a freestanding building in the style of an Australian country home.

The new spaces will continue Sydney’s coastal-modern aesthetic of white marble, wide plank hardwood flooring and designer furniture. Both will feature large communal tables and ample outdoor seating.

Deborah DiMeo, Vice President of Leasing at the Wilder Companies, commented: “We look forward to welcoming locally-based Sydney to Garden City Center. As we continue to expand our shopping and dining options, Sydney will bring a sophisticated and unique all-day café offering to our customers with a spotlight on fresh, beautifully presented local ingredients.”

Planned menu additions include made-to-order smoothie bowls, plant-based noodles, and new grab-and-go and pastry selections, including additional vegan and gluten-free bakery items.

IllyCaffè’s Artisti del Gusto

The locations will open with IllyCaffè’s exclusive Artisti del Gusto designation, signifying the highest barista standards; Sydney Providence was awarded the label earlier this year.

The enhanced footprint will allow Sydney’s catering business, geared at both private celebrations and corporate events, to serve a much larger area. Sydney’s catering menu features breakfast, lunch, beverages and premium baked goods. The expansion will also enable the roll-out of improved service options, including mobile ordering.

Sydney’s Providence location at 400 Exchange Street is open daily from 7 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday, and 8 am to 5 pm on weekends. The public is invited to follow “sydneypvd” on Facebook or Instagram for updates.
