According to the National Federation of Coffee Growers, Colombian coffee production reached 1.3 million bags of 60 kilos in August, or a 2.8% decrease over the same month last year.
Year-to-date production (January-August) totalled 8.8 million bags, down 2.2% on year.
In the last 12 months, Colombia produced almost 14 million bags of coffee, down 3.1% from over 14.3 million registered in the same previous period.
Coffee exports exceeded one million bags of 60 kg, 10.3% less compared to the 1.2 million exported in the month of 2017.
In the last 12 months (September 2017- August 2018) the external sales of the grain reached 12.7 million bags, 4.7% less compared to the 13.4 million bags registered in the same previous period.
So far in 2018, Colombia exported 8.1 million bags, 2.7% less compared to the 8.4 million bags sold abroad between January and August 2017.
