HAMBURG, Germany — The hospitality and food service market is in constant movement. As it faces up to disruptive concepts and global food trends, dynamic market support is essential. The response by Internorga, the leading international trade show for the whole of the hospitality and food service market, is to announce a comprehensive, strategic revamp of exhibition hall allocation from 2020 onwards.

This will play a key role in meeting the current and future needs of current and future exhibitors and of trade visitors.

Internorga has come up with a new structure for future exhibition hall planning. It takes account of the special dynamism of the out-of-home market.

Markets and individual segments have changed radically in the past ten years, and have regrouped. New market players are entering the industry, and new business fields have emerged. The borders between them have become blurred or are in a state of flux.

Internorga has therefore decided to re-allocate more than 100,000 square metres from 2020 onwards. “We are convinced the new allocation of areas and market segments will give the best possible structure for all exhibitors and visitors,” says Claudia Johannsen, Business Unit Director at Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH.

This adaptation to market structure also responds to requests by exhibitors, and helps to meet the high level of demand and reduce the long waiting lists. Internorga has engaged in extensive dialogue with exhibitors from all areas in recent months, and developed a forward-looking draft for overall planning.

“The new structure enables us to improve the focus of the individual thematic segments for our various visitor target groups in the food service and hospitality markets,” adds Claudia Johannsen.

“New market players and new business sectors in the industry will benefit from the future allocation plan, as will regular exhibitors and visitors. Internorga moves forward stronger and better structured than ever with the Hall Plan 2020. I look forward to implementing it.”

Internorga will be held at the Hamburg Messe und Congress site from 15 to 19 March 2019, expecting over 1,300 exhibitors and more than 95,000 trade visitors.
