MILAN, Italy — On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December, the beautiful setting of Palazzo dei Giureconsulti, located in Via dei Mercanti, in the heart of Milan, will host “The Panettone Artists”. During this two-day event, the most important Italian Master Pastry Chefs will meet for a challenge which will crown the winner of the competition “The Best Panettone in Italy”.
Always supporting the best Italian food tradition, Hausbrandt is a partner of the event, confirming its privileged relationship with the world of fine pastry-making. Coinciding with the feast of Saint Ambrose, patron saint of Milan, the event will feature round tables, tastings, masterclasses, talks and live cooking focused on the traditional cake of the city.
Luigi Biasetto, Vincenzo Tiri, Gino Fabbri, Paolo Sacchetti, Salvatore De Riso, Maurizio Bonanomi, Alfonso Pepe, Fabrizio Galla, Vincenzo Santoro, Andrea Tortora are the professionals who will face each other on a delicious battlefield made of selected ingredients, kneading capacities and patient waiting for optimal leavening, each of them adding its own personal “artist’s touch”.
The jury of the competition “The Best Panettone in Italy” is chaired by Iginio Massari, Honorary President and founder of the Italian Master Pastry Chefs Academy, member of Relais Dessert, founder of Cast Alimenti, considered the symbol and the Master of Italian pastry-making, with over 500 acknowledgements, both at a national and international level.
Hausbrandt and its best coffee will be on center stage in different moments. First, during the masterclass focusing on panettone al caffè (coffee-flavored panettone). Then, on Sunday, during the tasting dedicated to the Gourmet 100% Arabica blend, spicy and citrusy, which has been chosen to be paired with the panettone of the best pastry chef under 35, thanks to its delicate sweetness and refined acidity. Finally, for the whole two-day event, guests will be able to relax and enjoy an “artist’s” espresso in the VIP lounge.
