HANOI, Vietnam – Coffee exports from Vietnam will surge an estimated 20.1% this year to 1.88 million tonnes, or 31.37 million 60-kg bags, the General Statistics Office (GSO) said in a report on Thursday.
Export earnings will increase by 1.2% to US$3.54 billion, said the same source.
Vietnam’s coffee shipments for the month of December are estimated at 160,000 tonnes, worth US$287 million.
In other news, prices in the domestic market rose slightly this week to 33,800-34,000 dong ($1.46) per kg, up from 32,600-33,500 dong a week earlier. This is still 10% below last year’s prices.
