ROME, Italy – After opening its first Italian outlets in Milan last year, Starbucks is heading to Rome. The first shop in the Italian capital is set to open between September and October at an as-yet unidentified location near the Vatican Museums.
The location was chosen for its strong tourist appeal, according to Italian media. Additional openings are planned in Rome, either in Piazza di Spagna or at Termini railway station.
Located at the heart of Vatican City, the Vatican Museums host one of the most magnificent art collections in the world. Officially opened in 1506 by Pope Julius II, the museums display works from the immense collection built up by the Popes throughout the centuries.
