PORTLAND, OR, U.S. — The Fifth Annual Baker’s Dozen is Portland’s— and somehow still the world’s — only coffee beer and doughnut festival. It features three things Portland does best: beer, coffee, and doughnuts.

Portland is home to dozens of craft breweries and independent roasters so the union of the two makes for hoppy, roasty bliss. Those results then pair gluttonously with artisan doughnuts.

What makes this event extra unique is that attendees suffer no FOMO; admission includes samples of absolutely everything. And they can’t do it wrong; no single coffee beer is designed to complement any particular doughnut since they all pair perfectly.

The festival again takes place at Ecliptic Brewing (825 N. Cook St.) on Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Last year the event sold out in advance and tickets are limited(to ensure attendees don’t miss out) and are available for $29 ($35 at the door if available) at Merctickets.com/go/BakersDozenPDX

This year’s line-up features ten breweries new to the event, including one meadery. Both McMenamins and Modern Times are grandfathered in as both brew—and roast—their own and of course the host, Ecliptic Brewing, has something special up their sleeves. Each beer incorporates a different local roaster’s beans.

Beer samples come in three-ounce pours, roasters will be pouring unlimited coffee samples of the java used in the beers, and delectable doughnut morsels will be quartered because no one can eat 13 doughnuts.

The mostly-Portland line-up this year also welcomes Crux Fermentation Project + Riff Coffee from Bend, Nectar Creek Mead + Pacifica Coffee from Corvallis, and Wander Brewing from Bellingham, WA.
