NEW YORK, U.S. – Effective with the start of trading for trade date Monday, March 11 and through and including trade date Friday, March 29, 2019, the Exchange is implementing a temporary change to the open times for Sugar No. 11, Coffee “C” and Cocoa futures and option contracts. On each day in this period the opening times for these contracts will be:

  • Sugar No. 11: 4:30 am NY time
  • Coffee “C”: 5:15 am NY time
  • Cocoa: 5:45 am NY time

Temporary Settlement Window Changes

The Exchange is also implementing a temporary change to the daily settlement window for Coffee “C”” and for Cocoa futures and options contracts for this same period. For this period, the daily settlement window for Coffee “C” futures and options contracts will be from 1:23 to 1:25 pm, and the daily settlement window for Cocoa futures and options contracts will be from 12:48 to 12:50 pm. At the end of this period the settlement windows for these contracts will revert to the normal times for each product.

Due to this temporary change to the settlement windows for these products, during this period Trade at Settlement (or “TAS”) trading for Coffee “C” futures contracts will end at 1:25 pm and TAS trading for Cocoa futures contracts will end at 12:50 pm each day instead of the normal times.

Last Trading Day Hours

Please note that trading in the expiring March 2019 Coffee “C” futures contract on its last trading day (3/19/19) will end at 1:25 pm, and that trading in the March 2019 Cocoa future contract on its last trading day (3/14/19) will end at 12:50 pm.

Other trading times for these products – including the Pre-Open time, the Daily Close of Trading, and the Daily Settlement Window for Sugar No. 11 contracts – remain unchanged during this period as expressed in NY local times.

This temporary change to the referenced times for these products is due to the start of Daylight Savings Time in the U.S. on March 10, and will last until the start of British Summer Time on March 31. Traders outside the US should be aware that the start of US Daylight Savings Time and/or British Summer time may impact their local time corresponding to the relevant Pre-Open, Daily Settlement Window and Daily Close of Trading times of any product.

Traders should also be aware that the Daily Settlement Window and Last Trading Day end of trading times for the Gold Daily Futures contract are set using London Times, and that the start of US Daylight Savings time and/or British Summer time may impact their local time corresponding to the Daily Settlement Window and Last Trading Day end of trading times for this product.
