KOLKATA, West Bengal, India – The Board of Directors of Tata Global Beverages Limited announced at its meeting yesterday Mr. Ajoy Misra, presently the Deputy CEO and Executive Director of Tata Global Beverages Limited (TGBL) be elevated and appointed as the CEO and Managing Director of TGBL effective 1st April 2014.
He will replace Mr. Harish Bhat, who will step down at close of business on 31st March 2014 and move into a senior advisory position in the Tata Group.
The appointment of Mr. Misra as the Managing Director will be subject to all required statutory approvals and the approval of the members of the Company.
Mr. Ajoy Misra will, with immediate effect, function as “Managing Director Designate”, until he formally takes over as Managing Director on 1st April, 2014. Ajoy has over 30 years of rich experience in the Tata group.
Prior to joining Tata Global Beverages, he held with distinction several leadership roles in the Taj Group of Hotels, including as the Head of Global Marketing & Sales, Area Director and General Manager of various regions and properties of the Taj.
He holds an undergraduate degree in engineering from BITS Pilani ; and a Master’s degree in business from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. He has also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
The Board of Directors has also decided that Mr. Harish Bhat will be appointed as a non-Executive Director on the Board of TGBL with effect from 1st April, 2014.
