WASHINGTON, DC (U.S.) – Starbucks continues its commitment to reducing its environmental impact by joining World Wildlife Fund’s ReSource: Plastic as a Principal Member. ReSource: Plastic will serve as an important resource for Starbucks ongoing sustainability initiatives, which include greener cups and packaging as well as greener stores and renewable energy.

This announcement follows recent progress toward its goals of phasing out plastic straws and trialing a Greener Cup solution.

“World Wildlife Fund is a key partner for Starbucks in our efforts to continue minimizing our environmental footprint,” said John Kelly, Senior Vice President of Global Public Affairs and Social Impact, Starbucks.

“We look forward to being a part of ReSource: Plastic as we know it takes collaboration to find scalable, truly impactful solutions. We’re committed to learning and leading alongside other brands as we work toward our aspiration of sustainable coffee, served sustainably.”

Starbucks participation in ReSource: Plastic builds on an existing partnership with WWF to co-develop Starbucks Greener Stores framework as part of a commitment to design, build and operate 10,000 Greener Stores globally by 2025.
