KAINALIU, Hawaii – The CBB Task Force Nonprofit Corporation Board of Directors will hold its Annual Meeting Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the CTAHR Conference Room in Kainaliu, Mauka from the Aloha Theatre from 2:30 to 4:30PM.
The Task Force Board is composed of seven members representing the Hawaii Coffee Association, Hawaii Coffee Growers Association, Ka’u Farm Bureau, Kona County Farm Bureau, Kona Coffee Council, Kona Coffee Farmers Association and the Kona Young Farmers.
The Board will review its 2014 CBB Mitigation Program and implementation of its Hawaii Department of Agriculture CBB Control Contract.
It will also hear a report on joint PBARC/CTAHR CBB research projects, discuss potential future funding and scope of future CBB mitigation, education and research efforts. It will elect its 2014 officers at the end of this meeting.
The public is invited to attend and an opportunity for public comment is also scheduled at the end of the Annual Meeting Agenda.
CBB Task Force
The CBB Task Force is a voluntary collaborative effort between industry, government and the scientific community to stop the spread of the CBB (Coffee Berry Borer) to other coffee growing regions on the Big Island and through out the State of Hawaii and to develop and coordinate appropriate pest control, to mitigate its impact and possible eradication in the affected areas.
