GOLD COAST, Queensland – Donut King today opened yesterday its first drive thru outlet in Deagon, Queensland. The outlet is the culmination of Donut King’s brand Evolution, unveiled in September 2013.
It features an innovative store design, enhanced menu and focus on product customisation.
Deagon is the first Donut King outlet to open as a stand-alone store with a drive thru, and sees a departure from the traditional kiosk style outlet operated within a shopping centre.
Donut King Managing Director Nicholas Brill said the drive thru store opening marked a significant milestone in the evolution of Donut King from an impulse driven outlet to a dine in or drive thru coffee and treat destination.
“During our recent brand evolution, Donut King identified several opportunities created by growing trends in the consumption of coffee via drive thru outlets,” said Mr Brill.
“Over the past few years Donut King has built a strong reputation for great tasting, barista crafted coffee and our exclusive Royal Bean coffee blend now has a loyal following among customers.
“Donut King’s point of difference to other coffee drive thru outlets is our extensive donut, savoury and cold beverage lines as well as the level of customisation we offer our customers to create their ideal hot dog, donut or cold drink.
Along with its convenient drive thru, Donut King Deagon features a children’s playground and large in store dining areas.
The outlet’s design elements embrace the brand’s motto ‘Make It Fun’ with astro turf on the ceiling, bright coloured décor and a ‘dk:id’ station where donuts, cold drinks and frozen yoghurt can be customised at a touch screen ordering station.
Mr Brill said the store would be monitored over coming weeks with the intention to open similar outlets across Australia.
Donut King Deagon opened on Tuesday 18 February 2014 and will host a Grand Opening day on Saturday 1 March 2014 where the Donut King team will celebrate the new outlet’s opening with the local community with product sampling, giveaways, competitions and games.
