MILAN – Costa Coffee has begun reopening branches, amid the Covid-19 pandemic. So far, four outlets have resumed business for takeaway and delivery. The UK coffee giant has opened two drive thru venues, including one in Manchester and the other in Mansfield, as well as two cafes – which are only open for deliveries – in Manchester and Bristol.
Each of the stores reopened on Friday, April 24th but have remained closed for public access, report local media.

Confirming the news on Facebook, Costa said: “We’re opening two drive-thru lanes and two stores for delivery on Friday.

“A massive thank you to the team members that have volunteered to work – helping support key workers.

“Our priority remains the safety of our teams and customers.”

All of the newly reopened stores will be operating core hours of 8am to 4pm. They will also only be taking contactless payments.

Costa Coffee joins the likes of Pret A Manger, KFC, Greggs and Burger King in re-opening outlets in the country.

In another post on its website, Costa said they have introduced new measures to keep their employees and customers safe.

The chain confirmed that all staff will be given protective equipment, including masks, and need to follow strict social distancing guidelines.

Workers will also have to wash their hands and clean work surfaces at least every 30 minutes.
